The killer plane


A man is killed by a radio-controlled toy plane few days ago! This is the 1st accident which had reported in Malaysia and the news grabs wide attention from the public.


A middle age Indian electrical engineer was killed in an accident after he was struck on the head by a 2.2 kilograms radio-controlled plane which had gone out of control in Bandar Saujana Putra on Sunday morning. The toy plane struck the man’s right head and cause massive bleeding. He was killed after hospitalized for a few hours.

A group of model plane enthusiasts, who flew their planes at the same spot, said this was the first time a fatal accident was reported although there had been cases of model aircraft causing injuries.

The ‘killer plane’ is Richmodel Quickie 40 RC which can travel up to 200kph is belongs to a company director. He was standing barely six metres away and was believed to have lost control of his toy plane. The owner of the ‘killer plan’ was questioned by police and is now being investigated for causing death by negligence.

The police are citing the Penal Code 304A to investigate the case. Under this section, the person is liable into imprisonment not more than two years, fine or both once convicted.



Useful advice:

1. Normally, those who get in touch with this radio-controlled toy plane are those who aged 12years old and above.
2. Players are advised to play the toy plane in a group; the new players are advised to play the plane under the guidance of those who have experiences.
